The Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development in charge of rural economic development and Agriculture Hon Collins Ntim has assessed the performance of 4 MMDCEs in the Bono Region.
The assessment forms part of the ministry's working visits to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to assesses the extent of progress in the implementation of government policies and programmes.
Visited MMDAs includes the Sunyani East, Sunyani West, Banda and Wenchi.
Speaking to a section of Media Practitioners in the Bono Region, Hon Collins Ntim said the essence of the monitoring is to assess the performance of MMDCEs in reference to high revenue performance, government job creation programmes, planting for food and jobs, planting for Export and Rural Development, sanitation, health, education, security, Holding of Statutory meetings among other things.
Hon Collins Ntim was quite happy with the MMDCEs in the areas he has visited in the Bono Region for excelling in the areas of assessment and urged them to do more.
Wenchi Municipal Assembly has been adjudged the performing Assembly in the Bono Region in both Health and Education.
Hon Dr Prince Kwakye Afiriyie the Municipal Chief Executive for Wenchi said it is commendable to see the Deputy Minister take time to visit the assemblies in the Bono Region.
He explained that the Wenchi Municipal Assembly has scored excellence in education and health with low performing in the planting for export and rural development under the agriculture and promising to work harder to perform better.
