On Thursday, March 14,2019,a gang of armed robbers attacked and robbed travelers on the Menji-Bui highway between Banda Bofie and Banda Saabie.
They shot me on my right leg which I undergo for treatment.
The robbers carrying guns blocked the highway and succeeded in robbing travelers on motorbikes of their cash and other valuables.
And again,on Friday, March 15, this year travelers including the Chief of Banda Boase from Banda Boase to Nsawkaw was also attacked and robbed.
Moreover,on Monday, 17th, March,2019 a similar armed robbery incident occurred on the Wenchi- Sampa road where a pregnant woman was sho dead.
Also on November 3rd,2017 there was a similar situation at Subinso II in a broad- day light where a woman and a young boy have been shot dead while another woman sustained several injuries.
To mention a few, I find the situation so strange and outrageous and therefore wish to state my disappoinment in the Ghana Police both the Municipal Police Command and the Divisional Police Command in Wenchi for their ability to arrest the situation.
I know per the Ghana Police Act 1970 (Act 350) , the police is supposed To Protect Life and Property, To Prevent and Detect Crime To Apprehend and Prosecute offenders.
But, the begging question is what are the Ghana Police in Wenchi under Assistance Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr. Sabastian Acthu Wemegah who is the Divisional Police Commander and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr. David Osei Boakye the Municipal Police Commander been doing to save us from the hands of these criminals?
If the police who are supposed to protect our lives and properties are sleeping on their jobs, what should we the ordinary citizens do?
I ask again what strategy has the Wenchi police put in place to curb this situation?
The seeming silence of the Wenchi police has resulted in the citizenry not having confidence in them any longer, our lives are always in danger, we live in constant fear and panic.
