88 Candidates To Contest Assembly Elections In Wenchi

Records from the Office of the Electoral Commission in the Wenchi Municipality of Bono Region indicate that eighty eight (88), candidates have filled their nominations to contest the District Assembly Elections after close of nominations.

According to the records only 2 women out of the 88 have filled their nominations to contest the District Assembly elections slated for December 17 this year.

However 189 males and 22 females are also contesting in the Unit Committee Elections.

The District Assembly Elections is expected to be held in 29 Electoral while the Unit Committee Elections is also expected to be held in 23 Electoral Areas within Wenchi Municipality.

The Electoral Commission Officer in the Wenchi Municipality, Mr Edward Gyamfi disclosed this in an interview with Nana Anfreh Damanta.
