Ghanaians Should Avail Themselves For Digital Literacy- Peace Council Chairman

Chairman of the National Peace council, Prof. Emmanuel Asante has urged Ghanaians to avail themselves for digital literacy knowledge assessment, so they could impart such knowledge to their children and society.

He reiterated that the moment, Ghanaian children are been educated on net of which parents are ignorance and don’t know what they are doing there, he then urged parents to focusing on the protection of children online, no legislation that criminalized online grooming, cyber bullying.
There was also no legislation criminalizing access or visualization of child pornography, which were among critical challenges confronting children who use the internet. He stated that sexual education is already on the internet and on the various television stations but parents don’t have any knowledge about it.

He was referring to the recent brouhaha surrounding on the Comprehension Sexuality Education (CSE) that until leaders and parents avail themselves to get a little knowledge about ICT.
He then urged the government to introduce sex education that will respect the Ghanaian cultural and religious values in the country.

The Chairman disclosed this in an interview to the Adom News Christian Ofori Kumah on Sunday at Wenchi in the Bono Region after an induction service of Rt Reverend Alfred Appiah Andam as the Bishop of Wenchi Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana.

Meanwhile, the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Reverend Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo has urged Christians and the general public to massively partake in the upcoming District Assembly, Unit Committee elections and referendum slated for December 17 this year.

He emphasized that the referendum is on Article 55 (3) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana to allowed Ghanaians to decide either political parties to participate in the local governance elections or not.
He called on all Christians especially members of the Methodist church to go out on the December, 17 to exercise their franchise.


HOWEVER, the newly inducted Bishop of Wenchi Diocese, the Right Reverend Alfred Appiah Andam also told the Adom News his vision for the Church.
