Involvement of practical agriculture in all forms is crucial - Educationist

A renown Educationist, Mr James Ussher has admonished the need for government to involve agriculture in all forms of Ghana education to inculcate the habit of farming into the kid.

Speaking to newsmen, The award winning Educationist lamented that, Agriculture forms the backbone of any economy. Without a strong agricultural base a nation will always find it difficult to sustain its economic growth.

He added that, Not only does it sustain the state's food requirements but it also acts as a huge source of employment. It also provides opportunity for export.

Mr. Ussher praises government on the four main flagship programmes: Planting for Food and Jobs, Planting for Exports, Youth in Agriculture, and One District, One Factory all falls under agriculture so government should look into the curriculum again and involve agriculture in all forms.

As an Agriculture country, there is an ample need to groom our kids on that line.consequently, it is hereby suggested that practical agriculture in its all forms, should begin from primary four he said
