Biscuits and chocolate from cashew and watermelon factory to be constructed under the government's One District One Factory's project at Wenchi Akrobi in the Wenchi Municipality of Bono Region.
First stage of the project is expected to employ about 500 people when completed by mid - 2020.
Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr Kofi Appiah Frimpong, said about $ 2.1 million is expected to be invested into the project.
The project when completed will process chocolate, biscuits,drinks,honey jabs among other things.
The Akrobi chocolate and biscuits processing company when completed will process the products for the local and international market.
Currently the factory is producing tombrown and seek to expand its operations into processing.
This came to light at a stakeholder meeting held at the Wenchi MCE's Office between the investors and the District Implementation Committee of the 1D1F.
Mr Kofi Appiah Frimpong used the opportunity to handover documents covering the land of the project to Dr Prince Kwakye Afiriyie the MCE for Wenchi Municipality.
In his response Dr Prince Kwakye Afiriyie thanked the investors for the project and pledged the commitment of all stakeholders to the success of the project.
