NPP Primaries: Former Broadcast Journalist Kojo Frempong Files Nomination Forms To Contest In Wenchi

Former Broadcast Journalist Kojo Frempong on Thursday February 20,2020 submitted his nomination forms to contest the parliamentary primaries at the Wenchi constituency of the Bono Region slated for April 25 this year.

Kojo Frempong and his supporters stormed the party office clad in his t-shirt.

Addressing supporters gathered at the constituency office of the New Patriotic Party at Wenchi Kojo Frempong acknowledge that his decision to join the raise is to bring Wenchi to its old glory.

Wenchi is not the town it used to be, Wenchi has lost its olden days glory he said.

According to the former broadcaster some years back Techiman was a small town under Kintampo while Kintampo was also under Wenchi but today Techiman has outstripped Wenchi in every known economic and social town.
In the olden days when students went on vacation they travel to Wenchi and work for their fees but today there is nothing to boast about that because TOMACAN, PTC, Animals horse boundary and State Farms are all collapsed.

Mr Kojo Frempong emphasized that if given the opportunity to lead NPP in Wenchi and subsequently win the seat come December 2020 he will re -engineer Wenchi to create new opportunities for the people of Wenchi.

Kojo Frempong has worked with Skyy Power FM in Takoradi,Joy FM,TV3, TV Africa and Viasat 1 TV.

He was named the best TV show Host in 2014 and 2015 at the Radio and Television Awards.

The former Broadcast Journalist holds a Master of public Administration degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Kojo Frempong is currently working at the Ministry of Business Development.

He is battling with four other contenders namely Albert Ameyaw, Dr. Tina Abrefah Gyan, the former Managing Director of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), Nana Yaw Opoku Atuahene and the incumbent Member of Parliament and also Minister for Planning Professor George Gyan Baffour.

Both contenders have filled their nomination forms to contest for April 25 parliamentary primaries in Wenchi.

Election and Research Officer of the the party, and also a member of the election nomination committee, Mr. Kwame Saara Mensah commended both aspirants for their comportment towards the whole excercise without any grudges.

He said the committee will send the forms to the Bono Regional Secretariat of the NPP on 23rd February,2020 after which the vetting process would be followed.
