The Takoradi-Tarkwa passenger rail service is to be suspended for two weeks, effective Monday, March 2, 2020, a statement from the Ghana Railway Company Ltd has said.
This comes after the regulator, Ghana Railway Development Authority notified management of the company of the construction of culverts on the Western line by the contractor, Amandi holdings.

There will be occasional interruption of service on the Western line following a new standard gauge railway line being developed alongside the existing railway line, authorities say.
