President Akufo Addo has appealed to both Christians and Muslims in Ghana to observe a national day of prayer and fasting on Wednesday, 25th March 2020 in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
The President in a national broadcast on Saturday night asked Ghanaians to “pray to God to protect our nation and save us from this pandemic.”
He thanked the men and women of God who prayed with him on Thursday and with the Vice President on Friday for their intervention.
Ghana has recorded additional 2 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus bringing the tally to 21.
The West African nation recorded its first death of the deadly plague earlier on Saturday.
Ghana has tightened the nooks in its fight against the covid-19 pandemic as President Akufo-Addo late Saturday in a national broadcast announced the closure of all the country’s borders effective Sunday midnight.
