The Ghana Health Service(GHS) says the country is seeing a decline in the number of positive covid-19 cases.
Director-General of the GHS, Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye at a Press briefing organised by the Information Ministry in Accra on Thursday disclosed that since Ghana reached its peak of the infections on April,27,2020, the positivity rate has declined consistently.
“If you look at this data we peaked at April 27 this year and since then the numbers have continued to come down till the last update that is yesterday.
“So that is saying that of the positivity, since peaking on the 27th of April, we have consistently recorded a decline up till today and we hope that it’ll continue to be the case so that we will be able to bring the disease under control,” he said.
Ghana has recorded 372 more COVID-19 cases, with the case count hitting 3,091, the Ghana Health Service has announced.
According to the May 7, 2020 update, nine more patients have recovered and discharged resulting in 303 recoveries. The death toll remains 18.
The Bono region is the latest of the 16 to record its first case. The Savannah, Ahafo and Bono East remain the only regions yet to record a case in Ghana.
