
Government has placed a ban on all religious activities in schools across the country in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak in Ghana.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh who made the disclosure at a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday said no religious activity will be allowed when schools reopen in a bid to prevent close contacts to stop the spread of coronavirus.
He further stated that parents and guardians cannot visit their children or wards when schools reopen.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh said all class sizes are going to be split to ensure the social distancing protocol.
He stated that SHS would reopen on June 22, JHS on June 29 with six weeks of academic work then five weeks for WASSCE.
The Minister added that all day students in Boarding schools will be in boarding, while day schools will have enhanced daily health protocols.
He said dining will be in batches in boarding schools.
For JHS, Dr. Opoku Prempeh said there will be no outside break with classes starting from 9am to 1pm each day.
