
Alhaji Issahaku Osman Mamprusi Chief of Accra and Prince Kamal Gumah, the President of Mamprugu Community in USA have presented a cheque on behalf of chiefs and elders of the Mamprugu USA Community to the COVID-19 Trust fund.
Even though COVID-19 is more devastating in the USA, the Mamprusis living in the United States still believe their mother Country needs some help from them.
Chief Alhaji Issahaku thanked the Mamprugu Community in the USA for their kind gesture to mother Ghana.
He prayed for God’s blessings and protection for members of the Mamprugu community, adding that it is only the righteous that always remembers the home he or she has left behind.
The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Sunday, 29th March, 2020, inaugurated the Board of Trustees of the COVID-19 National Trust Fund, at a brief ceremony at Jubilee House, the seat of the nation’s Presidency.
The Board of Trustees, which is chaired by former Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo, will receive contributions and donations from the public to assist in the welfare of the needy and the vulnerable. The other members of the Board are Archbishop Justice Ofei Akrofi, Mr. Jude Kofi Bucknor, Gifty Afenyi-Dadzie, Mrs Elsie Addo-Awadzie, Dr. Ernest Ofori-Sarpong, Dr Tanko. Mr. Collins Asare will act as Secretary to the Board.
Since the outbreak of the virus in Ghana organizations and individuals have made donations to the COVID-19 Trust Fund.
