President Akufo Addo has extended the incentive package offered to health workers helping to fight the novel coronavirus to the end of 2020.
According to the President, this means that all health workers will pay no income taxes for the month of October, November, and December.
“Again all frontline health workers as defined by the Ministry of Health will continue to receive an additional allowance of 50% of their basic salary per month for the month of October, November, and December,” President Akufo Addo stated on Sunday in his 19th address to the Nation on measures taken against the spread of coronavirus.
The President in April first announced a three-month incentive package for health workers due to the immense dedication and hard work being exhibited by them as they continue to care for those affected by the coronavirus, and for the sick in general.
He again extended by another three months which ended in September 2020.
