Akufo-Addo appoints New National Security Coordinator

 

President Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed Major General Francis Adu Amanfo (Rtd) as the new National Security Coordinator.

He replaces Joshua Kyeremeh who died recently from alleged Coronavirus complications.

He was appointed Head of Defence Intelligence in the Ghana Armed Forces in May 2005.

Major General Francis Adu Amanfo (Rtd) served as Ghana’s High Commissioner to Liberia from February 2006 until March 2009 during the Kufuor Administration.

The former Senior Military Officer had his second cycle education at Prempeh College where he obtained his GCE Advanced level certificate.

Meanwhile, Mr Akufo-Addo has also appointed Edward Kwaku Asomani as the substantive Deputy National Security Coordinator.

The appointments were contained in a notice signed by Lt. Colonel Ababio Serebour (rtd), Chief Director of the National Security Ministry informing staff of the Ministry of the new appointments.

The notice stated that their appointments took effect from February 8, 2021.
