Apologize and retract defamatory story or I sue you – Techiman South MP to two portals

Deputy Minister-designate for Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah is demanding an immediate apology and retraction from two online portals, OPERA NEWS and THE ALHAJJ.COM over a defamatory story published against him.

A letter signed by lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo, Counsel for the Member of Parliament for Techiman South, instructed the duo to do so on or before May 13, 2021, or face legal action.

The online portals published a story about Hon. Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah which they sought to suggest that he’s using illegal means to appropriate a land belonging to one Lydia Forson.

“We are instructed to bring to your attention that our client has absolutely no interest in the land the subject matter of your publication situate at East La Dadekotopon, Accra.

“We are further instructed to notify you that your publication is false and clearly orchestrated to denigrate, ridicule, defame and tarnish his reputation in the eyes of the right-thinking members of the society,” the letter stated.

It added: “We find your story highly unethical because clearly our client’s side of the story was not incorporated yet you have widely published and circulated same.

“In view of the aforesaid, we are hereby instructed to demand an immediate apology and retraction of the said story on or before 13th May, 2021. We are firmly instructed to use the necessary legal avenues to vindicate our client’s right should you fail to accede to the demand stated supra.”
