Middle Belt Development Authority Organized Consultative Workshop For MPS In 3 Regions

A day consultative workshop on the Middle Belt Development Authority has taken place in the Bono Regional Capital Sunyani.

The MPS  from the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions attended the workshop which was organized by the Middle Belt Development Authority.

Hon. Joe Danquah, the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority explained that the workshop focused on one  million US dollars per Constituency projects.

He reiterated that the workshop also created awareness on the operational mandate, strategic objectives and core functions of the Authority,

ii. Assessment of previous works undertaking by the Authority through the Ministry for Special Development Innitiativ (MDSI),

iii. What have been done in the various Constituencies,

iv. The implementation of the projects in their various Constituencies is, re - awarding contracts of projects which are stalled,

and lastly,

v.
The way forward 2019 to 2020 the projects identified by the MPS and the action plan from the Authority.

Mr. Joe Danquah who is also the Parliamentary Candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Banda Constituency further explained that the operational areas of the Authority covers 109 Constituencies, of which 29 out of the 109  are in the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions respectively.

Some of the projects have been completed others are ongoing while some have been abandoned he said.

When visits to the projects sites in some communities there were no sign post, Community members are not aware that the projects were part of the 1 million US dollars per Constituency the CEO noted.

Currently some of the Constituencies are benefiting from toilet facilities, mechanized boreholes,warehouses, schools, CHP compounds amongst other projects Mr Joe Danquah narrated.
