Techiman is no longer Bono East regional capital- Citizen gh

A nonpartisan and a Non - Governmental Organization in Techiman called *Citizens GH* has on 1st October, 2019 called a press conference to draw the attention of the government and the Techiman Traditional Council as well as the good people of Techiman to the fact that Techiman is no longer the capital city of the newly created Bono East Region.

Speaking on behalf of the group,Mr. Ebenezer Boateng Secretary for the group alleged that the Regional Minister, Hon. Kofi Amoakohene and the Regional Coordinating Council(RCC) want Techiman 'useless' being the regional capital.

He added that, the RCC has planned to build the Regional Education Office at Nkoranza, the Regional Agric Office at Atebubu, the Regional Health Directorate at Kintampo and the Regional Roads and Highways office at Prang in the name of disbursing development across the region which is not so.

He asserted that, when 'Nananom' said they wanted development at their doorstep it wasn't in the form of  offices on their lands but the construction of roads, schools, hospitals, extension of electricity, portable water among others. So if the Regional Minister and the RCC have any peculiar reason, they should make it known now.

Finally, he said that, no other region in this country has all or most of its regional offices outside the capital city so why Techiman? He therefore urged the government, the Techiman Traditional Council and all stakeholders to as a matter of urgency call the Regional Minister and his RCC to order else Techiman which is the capital city for the Bono East Region will be rendered *'useless'*.
