Hold private funerals with only 25 mourners – Oppong Nkrumah

The Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said that apart from places where a partial restriction has been placed on movement, all other places can gather and hold their private funerals with mourners not exceeding 25.

President Akufo-Addo signed an Executive Instrument (EI) extending the duration of the restrictions imposed under EI 64 and EI 65. The restrictions imposed on public gatherings, under EI 64, have been extended for a further period of two (2) weeks, with effect from Monday 13th April, 2020.

However, some people have had challenges understanding the orders and have as a result flouted the laid down rules and regulations to be observed during this period.

Explaining this during the just ended Press Briefing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah who is the Information Minister reiterated that people in restricted areas ie Greater Accra, Greater Kumasi,Obuasi and Tema are barred from public gatherings, however, other places where there’s not partial lockdown can undertake their private funerals with people not more than 25 present.

Parts of Ghana is currently on lockdown and the country has recorded 641 cases with death toll hitting eight persons.
