
Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong has been nominated by President Akufo-Addo as Deputy Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
The Ashanti Mampong native and a father of three is an Investment & Property Consultant/ Chartered Housing Practitioner with vast experience.
The well-schooled Member of Parliament for Asante Mampong holds B/A Hons. degree from the University of Ghana(1980-84), Post Graduate Certificate in Public Policy, University of South Bank, London (1991) and Post Graduate Certificate in Housing Studies/ Estate Management University of Westminster, London (1993/94) .
He also studied for a Post Graduate Diploma in Housing Management, University of Westminster, London (1994-95), M/A (Housing Management), University of Westminster, London, (1995-96) and Post Graduate Certificate in Investment Management, University of London, Birkbeck College (2002-2003).
Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance & Business Ethics, University of London, Birkbeck College (2004-2005), and Advance Executive Cert in Procurement & Contract Management from the Graduate School of Governance & Leadership (2012).
He’s a member of professional bodies including Associate Member – Chartered Institute of Housing (UK), Member – Chartered Management Institute (UK), Member – Chartered Institute of Directors (UK) and Affiliate Member – Institute of Consulting (UK)
Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong has a rich employment history. He’s worked with reputable firms such as John Grant Estates, Edmonton London, London Borough of Lambeth, Brixton, London Borough of Hackney – Directorate of Housing, Hanover In Hackney Housing Ltd (UK), Capricorn Associates (UK) Ltd ( Property Developers, Management & Consultants), Ghana High Commission New Delhi, India as Deputy High Commissioner, Capricorn Holdings Ghana Ltd (Procurement & Construction; Property & Facility Management), Capricorn Logistics Ltd ( Shipping, Freight Forwarders) Ghana – India Business Network ( Business & Investment Consultants) and Geray Ltd ( Civil Engineers & Road Construction) where he’s the Managing Director till present.
On the political front, Hon. Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong was instrumental in the formation of the Danquah–Busia–Dombo group in London called United Progress Party International (UPPI) under the leadership J H Mensah, Kwadwo Mpiani, S K Boafo, Thomas Broni, Elizabeth Ohene, Dr. Adjei Baafour.
This was the umbrella political organization for the exiles in UK in the 1980’s and before 1992. The UPPI in London coordinated all the political activities, strategies and programmes of the Danquah-Busia group in Ghana and Outside Ghana until the birth of NPP in Ghana in 1992. I was the Assistant Secretary and later became the General Secretary. In fact the UPPI was formed in his house in London, after he hosted the group’s meetings for 7 consecutive weeks leading to the UPPI formation.
On the formation of NPP, he became the first Branch Assistant Secretary in London NPP UK & Ireland Branch for four (4) years. Later he became Branch Secretary in London for four (4) years. Was Chairman of NPP U K.& Ireland Branch for four (4) years
He has resourced the party both at the constituency and national levels by way of providing financial and material support.
