The Chief Executive Officer of the Nana Kay Foundation, Nana Kwadwo Agyei Yeboah has gone to the rescue of Evelyn Gadrey, a physically challenged Hawking petty trader on the streets of Achimota, Accra.
The action by the Foundation was to set her up with a business so that she could abstain from the dangerous street hawking business.
Evelyn Gadrey is a mother of 4, married to a physically challenged shoe maker husband. She used to be a worker at the Kpobiman Tollbooth on the Accra - Nsawam road in the Ga West Municipal before she was disposed after the announcement of the cessation of toll levies by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori - Atta in Parliament.
They were promised to be re-assigned but nothing has come out of the promise therefore the need for her to hawk on the streets in her wheelchair.
1st June was her birthday and Nana Kay Foundation surprised her while she was in business.
The News Editor of Homebase TV in Accra, Mr. Kofi Doe Lawson who discovered the plight of Evelyn called on all Ghanaians to help the needy in society especially the physically challenged.
