An Accra High court presided over by Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe has discharged the three journalists who were arraigned and charged for stealing and unlawfully accessing electronic records.
Samuel Ajarfor Abugri, the Deputy Editor of online media platform Modern Ghana, Emanuel Britwum, a journalist of Modern Ghana and Emmanuel Obeng Manu, a journalist at Peace FM were released on Friday, 5 July 2019.
Senior State Attorney, Stella Ohene Appiah, told the court that they were no more interested in following the case and requested for a discontinuation of the case.
Mr Abugri and Mr Britwum, were arrested by National Security operatives Thursday, 27 June 2019. They were alleged to been involved in cybercrimes and hacking, which they have denied.
Mr Manu was picked later and the three were slapped with the charges after an initial investigation by security operatives.
